MAITE Recaps “From Tea Leaves to Heritage” in Da Lat

Held in Da Lat on July 4–5, 2025, the “From Tea Leaves to Heritage” event series by MAITE offered a two-day journey exploring Vietnamese tea culture through the lens of heritage preservation and sustainable development.

From tea-making performances and traditional crafts to eco-oriented products and new tea-related initiatives, the program presented tea through multiple dimensions – as a product rooted in everyday life, a cultural value shaped over generations, and a tradition that can continue to evolve in a modern society.

Through the two-day program, MAITE sought to create greater awareness of Vietnamese tea culture while connecting traditional values with contemporary approaches to sustainability.

A Two-Day Journey into Vietnamese Tea Culture

Taking place in Da Lat, the event series was designed as an immersive journey through different aspects of Vietnamese tea culture.

The first day focused on cultural discovery through a range of hands-on experiences. Participants witnessed distinctive tea-making performances, explored eco-oriented products, experienced traditional craftsmanship, and discovered new initiatives related to ecological tea development.

Bringing traditional practices together with contemporary ideas created a space where tea culture could be viewed beyond its historical roots – as part of a more conscious approach to lifestyle, community, and sustainable development.

“From Tea Leaves to Heritage”: Connecting Tradition with the Future

While the first day introduced participants to the cultural dimensions of tea, the second day continued the journey under the theme “From Tea Leaves to Heritage.”
